  3. What is laparoscopic surgery? Laparoscopic surgery is an alternative to many invasive procedures where in many cases, patients experience less post-operative pain, have smaller scars and have shorter recovery time. To learn more, click here .

  4. Do you do laser surgery? Laser surgery has its role in cosmetic surgery and in some applications of liver surgery, but it is often confused with laparoscopic surgery. Lasers are essentially intense light beams that are used to ablate or selectively burn tissue to achieve its effects. It has very little role in General Surgery or Laparoscopic Surgery.

  5. How do I make or change an appointment? You may contact us by phone, fax, letter, e-mail. We will make every effort to accomodate your request. As a courtesy, we ask that you allow 48 hours notice for any cancellation of your appointment.

  6. What are your hours? Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Please see our contact information.

  7. Which Hospitals or Surgery Centers do you work at? O'Connor Hospital and the Advanced Surgery Center are the locations where surgeries will be performed.

  8. What is the Preoperative Clinic? Before most surgeries, patients will need to have any prerequisite paper work, blood work, x-rays, EKG performed in the preoperative clinic. It is located at O'Connor Hospital.

  10. How do I cancel an appointment? You may contact us by phone, fax, letter, e-mail. As a courtesy, we ask that you allow 48 hours notice for any cancellation of your appointment.

  11. What do I need to bring during the appointment? If you were seen by your primary care doctor, it is important to bring with you any laboratory or x-rays pertinent to your health. Other items that will be needed include your insurance card, your medications list, your primary care doctor and pharmacist contact information.

  12. I lost my post operative instructions. You may find these instructions here.

  13. I lost my prescriptions. In most cases, you may contact us with your pharmacist's contact information for us to prescribe non-narcotic drugs. Otherwise, you will need contact us to request another prescription.

  14. Which insurance carriers do you accept? We welcome San Jose Medical Group patients, Physician Medical Group patients, Premier Care patients, Medicare, Major PPO insurance plans, and private pays. We see SCIPPA on an individual out-of-network basis. Please contact us for specific policies.
